Regions Tradition

According to the forecast, it was looking like a crummy weekend for the golfers.

But that wasn't the case this year at Regions Tradition in Birmingham, AL.
Hosted at Shoal Creek Golf Club, this is the annual tournament.

And I love it.

No, I don't know a thing about golf.
But I always love this weekend.

And this year was no exception.
From the Celebrity Pro-Am

To the final round on Sunday.

It's a family friendly event (kids 18 and under are free with a ticketed adult) and we try to make a family day out of it.

This year, my Chappy was under the weather, so he stayed home. But we had a great time with the Perry family.

Already looking forward to next year.

Fuel Your Better

So. I received a package of Vega Sport in the mail.

I'm not too skeptical. And I'm already looking to improve my fitness routine. So I gave it a try.

I must say. I like it.

I received pre-workout Energizer
Acai Berry.
It's gluten, dairy, and soy free.

I mixed it with my bottle of Dasani.
Drank it.
And then about 15 minutes late began my workout.

I like it!
No crazy jitters. No side effects.

I'm a fan!

Thanks Pinterest

In an attempt to make these fabulous Nutella Filled Sugar cookie bites that I discovered on pinterest....I broke out my handy-dandy Pampered Chef Mini Muffin pan.

Yes....it didn't work out so well for me.

The cookie bites were still delicious, but they were less-than attractive.

Hey...I can't be fabulous AND a great cook! Come on now :)

Sometimes being a mother is a little blurry...

I asked my mom for a younger pic of me. So I could change my profile photo on Facebook.
This is what she sends me.
The first photo of "the three of us"

You see. She's pregnant with me. With my sis in tow. And on the way to the hospital to deliver.

I would imagine my Gramma probably took the picture.

She was still married to my "real dad" (I so hate this term)
But he wasn't there. She was flying solo this morning.

I love the fact that the photo is a little blurry. I bet if she were honest, she would say that a lot of my younger days were a little blurry.

She was a single mom. Even before she got divorced.
Carrying the load. Me and my sis.

Then the divorce. She owned the load.

Then my "step dad" (an even tackier term) came along. And made things a little clearer for her. I'm sure.

I would think if I asked her, she would say that she made mistakes along the way. But she did the best she could.

As a mom myself, that is how I feel.

Things are a little blurry sometimes. But it's because I'm squinting so hard trying to do the best I can.

This picture just caught me off guard yesterday. It speaks volumes of my mom.
But it reminds me why I am the loving mother that I am.

Yes, sometimes the load is heavy, and sometimes the path doesn't go the way I envisioned, but carry on.

It will get clearer in a few days.

Thanks Mom, for teaching me that loving my children is the best "load" I could ever carry.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Oak mountain recovers

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/images/bmx/significant_events/2014/04_07/8.jpg
It's hard to believe that this was Oak Mountain Amphitheater just a week ago!
After the crazy rain storms flooded the place.

So, the Lady Antebellum concert was postponed, and obviously the staff and crew at Oak Mountain got right to work!

And what a great job they did! The place was sparkling...maybe better than brand new!

Lady Antebellum put on an incredible show!

They "lit up the night" in Birmingham!

And we had a great time!
