Bring on the Candy!

What started out as a pretzel bucket, ended up as our cute little Candy-o-meter! I love it!

I repurposed it with this month's Scripts Kit, and a little bit of junk from my stash!

Not quite sure if I like the ribbon bars on the back, but we will see, for now....they say:
Get busy
Not quite
Almost
Jackpot!

And, after the Trunk-Or-Treat, and the Fall Festival, we are half-way full!!!!

Bring on the candy!

**PS: Mrs. Smart, looks like that 4th Grade Treasure Box will be full again soon!!!! (wink!)

The Shoes of Home

This is a photo I love, 2006-mind you, and I love it!

I am in the midst of packing for the 60 mile walk.....and a pre-sneak-away with that sweet hubby of mine....packing for the boys to be at school while I am gone, at Nana's for a few nights, at Aunt Sissy's for a night, and then to come to Atlanta to the Finish Line of the 3 day walk!

Needless to say, my mind is out-of-CONTROL!

So, I took a little time.....to enjoy the View! The view of my studio that is, and the quiet, paper goodness that lives up there!

I played with my October Scripts Kit, all I can say is YUM!

I was a little inspired by my friend, Gretchen, with the use of this super cute Making Memories paper....and I love the little witch shoes so much....I had to combine the two!

The little cute Orange Pink Paislee letters kind of faded into the paper, so I outlined them. And, the flowers are Prima, of course, from my stash!

Very simple. Very complete! That's the goal!

Now......back to that to-do list!

White Chicken Chili

Let me say that I am NOT a "by the recipe" kind of cook......so, I kind of add a little whimsy here and there, when I feel like it. But, that being said, this recipe is delish-i-ous!

1/2 stick of butter
1 large onion (white) chopped
5 cans Great Northern Beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
5 large cans of Chicken (drained) and if you are a domestic goddess, you can use the real chicken breasts that you have to boil and cut...duh....not me!
1 package of White Chicken Chili mix (usually it comes with a few different packets...and I just use the seasoning packet....not the mesa, etc)
1 package Chili Seasoning
1 can Rotel Tomatoes (I use original, if you are wild you can use spicy!)
3 T Chili Powder
5 cubes chicken bouillon
2 cans of chicken broth

**Saute onion in butter until translucent (and until you are finished crying).

Add drained and rinsed beans
Add all other ingredients.
Add extra broth while cooking, if you like it a little thinner! I do!
Simmer on low to medium....for about 2-3 hours (or until you can't take the yummy smell any longer)

Serve with tortilla chips, or Fritos Scoops!

I top with a little cheese, and sour cream!

Can you say YUM!

Backlot Studio Volunteer------silly me!

Well, if you have ever been, then you know this story! I volunteered to be a part of their "special effects crew".

Yes, that's right! Scott had the camera, and off I went to get my "costume" on. It was a wet suit!

They casted me as the mechanic!

She told me all I had to do was talk on the phone, and don't look to the left.

So, on cue, I picked up the phone.....and did NOT look to the left.

Then, they signaled the water....and here it came! LIKE A FLOOD! LOOK AT ALL OF THAT WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got soaked! Hilarious!

It was so great!!!!

****And, then, here's the video of the screen with it all put together!

My perfect friend!

Now, don't get me wrong, she is NOT a perfect person.....so I am not trying to be ridiculous here, but....you know.....when you think about it, you have tons of "friends" and then lots of "good friends" (you know, the ones you WOULD spend a day at the mall with), and then just a few "I mean...real friends" (you know, the ones you would call immediately if you were in an accident, or the ones you call first when you have the best news in the world......)

Well, my Susie is one of those! And, I loved this kit....and just piecing a bunch of random together! And....most of all, I am glad to have this layout...on paper!

**and, by the way, this is me....still playing with my August Scripts kit because I crazy can't remember to get the September one from Lucy** Maybe next week!
